![]() The cost was arbitrary as I felt like I already owed him money for teaching me to draw! I'm going to be quite honest now, I really like the book it lays things out in a very pleasant way its really easy to look at and nicely presented. To thank him, and also because I seem to learn from him really well from him I purchased this book. I am forever indebted to this man for giving me a new passion for something which previously seemed completely out of reach. I bought this guys book because his tutorials on youtube are second to non I literally went from a horrendous drawer to something approaching half decent simply by watching one of his playlists, I couldn't believe what had just come out of my pen and how well explained and useful and concise his videos are. it is perfect for beginners.I am satisfied with my masterpiece (attached) after 3 weeks observation of Alphonso's approach. ![]() These are the most valuable roots of an astonishing drawing. I like his reduction principle, how to convert complicity of the 'real' to a drawing, his idea to leave lines open, thinking about the purpose of strokes, his thinking about different tools, about questioning yourself in the process of the drawing, about leaving space for fun. (A lot of videos about narrow topics are quite overwhelming.) And in this sense, it is very valuable. But, the book shows you a thinking path through all levels of drawing. You don't need this book to learn how to draw with pen and ink, his free videos will teach you. ![]() In company with simplicity and practical thinking. There is a lot of generosity and freedom in it. I love this book and Alphonso's videos because of his approach to the tools, strokes, lines and mistakes.
